This invitation only, ongoing class is designed to
sharpen your acting skills by working on scenes from contemporary plays that
you would realistically be cast in. Our focus will be on strong, clear and
honest choices that are the basis of all my work with actors. In addition, we
will also discuss audition techniques and examine choices that will help you to
stand out in the audition room.
An optional showcase will be at the discretion of the
class.
Next sessions: ongoing; email for information.
Cost: $50 per class; optional extra fee for showcase TBD.
Side/monologue workshop: "type"
In this 5-session workshop we will work with both monologues and sides to focus on two important aspects of auditioning: your appropriate type and strong choices. We will spend the first sessions identifying and honing in on your appropriate type(s) to help you recognize the different categories of roles you might be realistically cast in. In the later sessions of the workshop we will turn our attention to how you can utilize strong – yet appropriate – choices to help you distinguish yourself in your auditions. I will help you find and work on at least one new monologue (contemporary and/or classical) as well as give you sides from plays to work on as if in a real audition setting. In addition to this work on craft, we will also cover general audition techniques and preparation. Workshop limited to 8 participants.
Next sessions: TBD; email for information.
Cost: $275 for complete workshop.
Monologue Workshop
This 4 week workshop will help you polish your existing monologues,
as well as find and work on two new pieces (contemporary and/or
classical). Along with your fellow participants, I will assist you in
finding pieces that show you off and make your own unique talents
shine. In addition to monologue work, we will also cover general
audition techniques and preparation. Workshop limited to 8 participants.
Next sessions: TBD; email for information.
Cost: $225 for complete workshop

Student Feedback:
This workshop was so helpful for me. I was exposed to material
I would have never have even thought to look at for monologues. And I
am so happy that I have three new and different monologues in my tool
box.

I feel that my time in class has opened me up in a new ways to "be me"
in auditions. I can tap into much more joy and curiosity now than
before I took your class.
Maria Gingrich
I think your feedback was spot on for everyone yet you gave it in a way
that didn't turn us off or make us feel like we made a wrong choice.
