Coach

New side study class begins in January!
New Spots available in
Scene Study CLass!

My greatest joy—and strength—is my work with actors. I coach actors to bring their whole self to their work so they can create characters that are just as unique as they are.

I have watched countless auditions, and it is always the actor who tells me something I didn’t know about the role who stands out. This does not mean outlandish choices, but an authentic, breathed in quality that you notice in the beat changes.

The cornerstone of my work—both in rehearsal and coaching—is to help the actor find their own authentic voice to ignite the text, while at the same time creating a grounded, motivated and honest performance.

I give practical advice and a safe space to help actors do their best work, as well as advice on monologue selection and general audition techniques. I offer group coaching in a class setting and private sessions by appointment in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

side Study

Side Study is a 5-class workshop focused on audition sides for theater — how to approach them, break them open, and bring your unique self to the work. Across new-play, contemporary, and mid-century material (including callback sides), we’ll explore how to make specific choices and stay grounded, flexible, and directable. Even with limited information, every side has a story — and we’ll learn how to uncover it, play it truthfully, and bring clarity and confidence to your auditions.

Sides will be chosen by the instructor, keepng in mind reealistic casting choices.

Admission by interview.

Tuesdays 6:30-9:30pm in TriBeCa.
Jan. 13-Feb. 17 (no class Jan 27)
No more than 10 students per class.

Scene Study

This ongoing Scene Study class is designed for professional actors who are looking to practice their craft and sharpen their skills while working on scenes from contemporary plays. Our focus will be on strong, clear and honest choices that are the basis of all my work with actors. Utilizing questions over direction, the ultimate goal of this class is to help the actor become more self sufficient, both in audition prep and rehearsals.

Scenes will be chosen in collaboration between instructor and your fellow classmates. Each scene will be worked on for at least two weeks/sessions. Ideally, you will meet your scene partner at least once between classes, and you will work in every class. While the majority of the class will be scene work, audition sides can be worked on as time permits.

Admission by audition/interview.

Mondays 12-3pm in Chelsea.
No more than 12 students per class.

Private Coaching

One on one coaching for auditions and skill building. Utilizing more direction than in a class setting, private coaching will help you craft unique, honest, and grounded performances.

Starting at $100 for a one hour session (plus studio space, if needed),
